The Problem

Dental treatment in New Zealand is increasingly expensive

Many people face:

  • High treatment quotes for major dental work

  • Delayed or avoided treatment due to cost

  • Confusion about overseas options

  • Difficulty understanding what is credible

Most people get stuck in research without a clear path forward.

Why people explore overseas options

People typically start exploring treatment in Vietnam when:

  • Treatment costs become difficult to manage locally

  • Multiple procedures are required (implants, crowns, restorations)

  • They want to understand alternatives before committing

The challenge is not information — it is clarity and trust.

On the ground in Hanoi

We believe you can only learn so much about a dental clinic online. In August 2026, I returned to Hanoi to visit clinics in person, meet dental teams, experience the patient journey and had dental work done myself.

These visits gave me a firsthand understanding of the clinics, their facilities, communication and level of English, treatment processes and the support available to international patients.

Why I Started Hanoi Dental Concierge

Hanoi Dental Concierge is founded on personal experience and real world exposure to overseas dental care pathways.

Around eight years ago, I personally underwent dental treatment in Hanoi, Vietnam, which first exposed me to the differences in cost, process, accessibility, and standards of care compared to New Zealand. I was also struck by the level of cleanliness, technology, and overall clinical quality. It genuinely changed my expectations of overseas dentistry at the time.

Since then, I have helped friends and family navigate dental clinics in Vietnam, compare options, and better understand what to expect when considering treatment abroad.

In August 2026, I returned to Hanoi to take that experience further. I visited clinics, met directly with dental teams and had dental work done myself again. Being there allowed me to look beyond websites, reviews and price lists, see the clinics firsthand, speak directly with dentists and staff, get a genuine understanding of their level of English and communication, and learn more about their treatment processes and support for international patients.

The trip reinforced how important it is to assess clinics in person. They can appear very similar online, but the differences become much clearer when you actually walk through the door.

This work is driven by a simple motivation: addressing the growing cost pressure of dental care in New Zealand and helping people make clearer, more confident decisions about their options.
